UAN hosts Community Leadership Forum Dinner to Strengthen Community Collaboration and Launch New Initiatives

NAIROBI, KENYA – August 19, 2026 — The United Asian Network (UAN) hosted its Community Leadership Forum (CLF) Dinner on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, bringing together leaders and representatives from diverse community organizations across Kenya to foster collaboration, unity, and economic empowerment.
The event featured a packed program led by emcee Abhijeet Gupta, who serves as UAN’s Social & Cultural Heritage (SH) Pillar Co-lead. The evening opened with the Kenya National Anthem, followed by host addresses and key presentations highlighting crucial initiatives driven by the UAN and its partner organizations:
Host & Keynote Addresses: Mr. Ashif Kassam, Vice President of the Ismaili Community, delivered the host address.
Financial Empowerment: Shilpa Haria, Finance Chair of UAN and Chair of UAN Sacco, addressed attendees on the developments and opportunities within the UAN Sacco.
Leadership & Growth: Dr. Amit Thakker, Vice Chairman of UAN, shared insights on UAN LS 3.0.
Civic Engagement: Nafisa Teja highlighted the upcoming Ismaili Civic Day and its impact on the community.
Strategic Vision: UAN Chairman Dr. Bimal Kantaria provided an overall UAN update, highlighting key initiatives including UAN MSA Connect and UAN + FOF.
The forum brought together leaders from over 25 prominent community groups, including representatives from the Sikh Council of Kenya, Ismaili Community, Bohra Community, SAAJ, Shree Navnat Vainik Mahajan, Tamil Cultural Association, South Indian Cultural Association, Memon Society of Kenya, BAPS, and the Sikh Women Society, among many others.
The evening concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nazma Ebrahim, Nairobi Centre Coordinating Chair, followed by a networking dinner aimed at building stronger inter-community relationships and shared vision for the future.
